Hey everyone,

I thought I might use this as a chance to let you all know that I’ve started to encounter a serious problem. It’s something which really seems to be weighing on my progress and holding me down. I’m hoping one of you might be able to help me with it.

It’s called gravity, have you heard of it?

I’m not sure if you’ve encountered this same problem, but if you have, I need to know how you overcame it. Gravity is stopping me from jumping higher, moving faster, and it’s causing my body to be way more fatigued as the day goes on. I feel like I’m sinking slowly to the bottom of the ocean and there’s nothing I can do about it. I just wish there was something I could do to simply get rid of it once and for all.

Anyone?

Now unless one of you can shoot me into space next week, chances are high that my “gravity problem” isn’t exactly going away anytime soon. And unfortunately, I must get used to this constant weight pinning me back to earth.

For a lot of you out there, I’d be willing to bet that you are also currently dealing with some problems. And inevitably they are getting in the way of you achieving something you want.

But did you ever stop and ask yourself if these problems are even solvable, or are they more akin to the problem I’m having with gravity?

For some of you, maybe this was your year to crack the starting lineup, but you sprained your ankle in the first practice of the season.

Or perhaps you desperately want to play professionally overseas, but no one has shown any interest in signing you to their team.

What you must quickly begin to realize is that these are not problems. They are facts. And just like gravity is a fact of nature, your circumstances are facts of life. All of which you have next to no control over.

To put it bluntly. If you cannot do anything about and if it’s not actionable, it’s not a problem.

And the issue that many of us face is that we confuse problems with circumstances. Instead of taking action on our real problems and ignoring the circumstances, we begin to seek out solutions to our circumstances and accept the problems.

In the case of dealing with an injury that sets you back, you have to accept the fact that your progress has been hindered. Your dreams of having a great season are postponed, but this does not necessarily mean they won’t ever be achieved.

What will stop you from achieving your goal is if you let this setback discourage you. If you let it beat back your ability to persevere. And if you don’t learn from the mistake.

What you should do instead

So, rather than complaining about the circumstances and accepting your problem. Flip it around.

Take action on your problems.

Ask yourself…

How can I recover faster?

What areas am I weak in right now that I can work on while my ankle heals?

Is there anything I can do to avoid this type of injury in the future?

How can I make the most of this recovery period?

In life, you are forever guaranteed to encounter “gravity problems”. And the sooner you recognize that many of these so-called “problems” are in fact circumstances and facts that you cannot control, the more readily you will be able to act and solve the problems that can indeed be fixed right now.

Don’t let immovable and unchangeable circumstances consume the time and energy that you could be using for actionable change on your real problems.

Don’t allow your circumstances to hold you back anymore.

Take action –  Right now!
